The scheme awards up to 10 scholarships, each worth US$2,000, to nursing students.



  • Applicant must be a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited LVN/LPN, RN degree (ADN or BSN), diploma, or RN-to-BSN program.  Individuals who have been accepted to a nursing program but have not yet started their coursework  will not eligible to apply for A Nurse I Am Scholarship program.

AACN’s Continuing Professional Development Scholarships help you continue your professional and personal growth. This opportunity is available to AACN members exclusively.


AACN’s scholarship program is designed to promote lifelong learning, personal reflection and professional growth.

There is an annual limit of $3,000 per recipient.

3. Cascade Healthcare Solution, The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship

The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded by Cascade Healthcare Solutions to an aspiring nurse who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program at a college or university, or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate nursing program. 


Worth of the scholarship:

As stated above, the scholarship is an annual $1000 award.



This scholarship is available for current students in an undergraduate nursing degree program at an accredited college or university, and high school students who have been accepted into a college and plan to study nursing. All applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and be a legal resident of the USA or hold a valid student visa.

5. John Hopkins School of Nursing Scholarships

The School of Nursing sets aside a limited amount of merit-based funds for students who demonstrate strong academic ability, leadership skills, outstanding community service, and other personal strengths and accomplishments.  These merit awards are granted for achievement, not financial need.


Worth of the Scholarships:

Scholarships range from $7,500 to full tuition and are awarded to students who are admitted and enrolling full-time in an MSN or DNP programs. 



Students who are awarded a scholarship must be enrolled full time and remain a student in good standing to receive the scholarship.

The National Black Nurses Association provides scholarships to students at all levels (LPN to doctorate).

  • Must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter (if one exists in your area). If a chapter does not exist within a 50-radius of your location you can join NBNA as a Direct Member. 
  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (BSN, AD, Diploma or LPN / LVN, Masters, and Doctoral) and in good scholastic standing at the time of application.
  • Applicant must have at least one full year of school remaining.

8. North Illinois University School of Nursing Scholarship

Each year school of nursing students receive $130,000 in scholarship funds. Donor gifts fund more than a dozen scholarships just for nursing students and faculty. There are scholarships granted based on academic achievement, financial need, to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students, faculty and those who are conducting research. There are some available to part-time students, veterans and those who show a commitment to the values associated with a profession in nursing.

9. Nurse Corps Scholarship Program

Eligible nursing students can apply to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program (Nurse Corps SP).


If accepted, they pay your tuition, fees, and other educational costs. In return, you work at a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) when you graduate.



You are eligible if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
  • Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing
  • Begin classes no later than September 30
  • Don’t have any federal judgment liens
  • Don’t have an existing service commitment
  • Aren’t overdue on a federal debt

Note: They give funding preference to those who need the most help financially.
